Significant Leadership Changes at Allianz Turkey with Notable International Appointment

Allianz Turkey has strategically restructured its leadership team, showcasing new senior appointments that include key international roles. Okan Özdemir will now serve as an Executive Board Member overseeing International Health Insurance at Allianz Partners, part of Allianz Group’s global operations. Previously, he held the position of Deputy General Manager of Health Insurance at Allianz Turkey.

Starting this significant new chapter on September 1, 2025, Özdemir is tasked with directing the company’s global health strategies and will report directly to CEO Tomas Kunzmann of Allianz Partners.

Further enhancing its leadership cadre, Allianz Turkey welcomes Emrah Gökmen as Deputy General Manager of Health Insurance. Simultaneously, Batu Öncül steps in as Deputy General Manager for Individual Non-Life Insurance. Both leaders have commenced their roles, aiming to reinforce the company’s commitment to delivering innovative customer service under the vision, ‘Allianz with You from Today to Tomorrow.’

Gökmen’s Proven Expertise in Health Insurance Emrah Gökmen’s substantial experience in the health insurance sector will fortify the management team. He holds an English Mathematics degree from Dokuz Eylül University and a master’s in Actuarial Science from Bahçeşehir University. Gökmen’s career commenced in reinsurance and progressed through product and pricing management at Allianz.

Öncül’s Global Leadership Experience Batu Öncül, joining as Deputy General Manager of Individual Insurance, is a Boğaziçi University alum with an MIT Sloan School of Management MBA. His extensive resume includes roles at top-tier firms such as Procter & Gamble, Bain & Company, and McKinsey & Company. At McKinsey, Öncül directed strategic projects across European and Turkish financial institutions.
