Allianz Trade, a leading name in trade credit insurance, has announced the appointment of Matt Williams as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the UK & Ireland, with his term starting on July 1st, 2025. He will be taking over from Sarah Murrow, who will transition to become the CEO of Allianz Trade in the Americas, also effective from the same date. These appointments are still subject to the usual regulatory approvals.
Matt Williams brings a rich tapestry of experience to his new role, having been with Allianz Trade since 2004. His journey began as a Credit Analyst, and he quickly rose through the ranks to become Regional Risk Manager for the UK & Ireland in 2009. After six years, he advanced to a regional role as the Head of Risk Underwriting for Allianz Trade in NEUR, serving from 2015 to 2020. In 2020, Williams was appointed Risk Director for Benelux, based in Belgium, and subsequently moved to Paris in 2021 to take on the role of Credit Director for Allianz Trade for Multinationals. In 2024, he returned to London, joining the NEUR Regional Management Team as Regional Credit Director.
Sarah Murrow has an impressive two-decade-long association with Allianz Trade, beginning her career in North America in 2004. She has held several key positions, including Client Service, Commercial Underwriting, and Strategic Account Manager, eventually becoming the Regional Head of Broker Management in 2011. Her career path led her to Paris as Global Head of Commercial Underwriting & Product Development, a role she held for five years. From 2017 to 2021, she served as Regional Head of Market Management, Commercial Underwriting & Distribution for Allianz Trade in Northern Europe, before assuming her current role as CEO of Allianz Trade in the UK & Ireland in 2021.
Additionally, Allianz Trade has announced the forthcoming retirement of Benoît des Cressonnières, who serves as the Global Head of Reinsurance and CEO of Euler Hermes Reinsurance AG. His retirement is scheduled for September 30th, 2025.
