Ascot names Marc Amen from RenRe as its new CEO for North America, marking a significant leadership move in the insurance industry.
Global specialty re/insurer Ascot Group, headquartered in Bermuda, has announced the appointment of Marc Amen as its new Chief Executive Officer for North America. This pivotal role will see Amen taking charge later this year, following the completion of his existing commitments.
In his new capacity, Amen will oversee all operational elements of Ascot U.S. and Ascot Bermuda’s insurance and reinsurance divisions. Additionally, he will become a member of the Ascot Group Executive Committee, reporting directly to Group CEO and President Jonathan Zaffino.
Amen brings with him an impressive 24-year track record in underwriting and leadership. Prior to joining Ascot, he held a significant role at RenaissanceRe, where he managed underwriting and key operational aspects of the company’s U.S. platform. His career also spans various positions at Alterra Re, Harbor Point Re, and Chubb Re.
Expressing his enthusiasm about the new appointment, Zaffino remarked, “There is a tremendous opportunity for continued profitable growth and expansion for Ascot across the U.S. and Bermuda re/insurance markets. Marc brings to us a proven track record of success, leadership, and technical execution skills.
