Despite this, the end-of-support date for Windows 10 itself remains unchanged, set for 14 October 2025. This announcement holds particular significance for corporate users, who heavily rely on these applications for their daily operations.
In a blog post from January, Microsoft had initially clarified that Office applications would no longer receive support on Windows 10 past 2025. Although the support window for Microsoft 365 applications has been extended to 2028, Microsoft continues to advocate for a shift towards Windows 11. The recent decision is not limited to Microsoft 365 users. Individual users who prefer to stick with Windows 10 will have the option to purchase paid security updates for the first time.
