In a significant gathering at the Future of Mobility Summit in Istanbul, prominent figures from the mobility and insurance sectors convened under the guidance of Yavuz Ölken, CEO of AXA Turkey. The panel, titled “Insurance in Autonomous and Electric Vehicles,” highlighted AXA Turkey’s role as both a supporter and pioneer in the transformation driven by electric, autonomous, and shared mobility solutions.
During the panel discussion, Yavuz Ölken, alongside Mehmet Gün, Founder of Gün+Partners Law Firm, Veysel Sinan Geylani, Founder of Touch Risk, and Uğur Gülen, Chairman of the Insurance Association of Turkey and Board Member at Aksigorta/Agesa/Medisa, explored new risk definitions, legal frameworks, and the future landscape of insurance for autonomous and electric vehicles.
Ölken remarked that insurance is evolving beyond a reactive system that activates only post-damage. He stated, “Mobility has transcended traditional transportation; it represents a new lifestyle interwoven with data, technology, and sustainability. This paradigm shift, impacting areas from public policy to insurance payment systems, requires a multidisciplinary approach.
