US President Donald Trump left Beijing after completing a two-day visit to China, following talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump departed aboard Air Force One after an official ceremony at Beijing Capital International Airport.
A red carpet was laid out for the departure ceremony, and a military band attended the event. Crowds carrying American and Chinese flags gathered at the airport.
Talks Focused on Bilateral Relations
During the visit, Trump and Xi held meetings focused on stabilising relations between the world’s two largest economies.
According to statements made during the visit, the two sides made progress toward a framework for constructive strategic stability. Trump said the countries had addressed a number of long-standing issues and signed major trade agreements.
Taiwan, Iran and Maritime Security Also Discussed
The talks also included regional and geopolitical issues, including tensions related to Taiwan, developments involving Iran, and maritime security.
