Referans Sigorta records 455% growth in 2025, driven by strong performance and leadership in the traffic insurance segment.
The Turkish Insurance Association (TSB) announced premium production figures for the January–December 2025 period. According to the released report, Referans Sigorta AŞ boosted its non-life insurance premium production to unprecedented levels compared to 2024, strengthening its position within the sector rankings.
In the same period of 2024, Referans Sigorta had generated TL 1 billion 58 million in premium income, while closing 2025 with a nominal growth rate of 455.2%. The company’s total premium income reached TL 5 billion 877 million 978 thousand.
With this outstanding performance, its market share in the non-life insurance sector grew from 0.14% to 0.56%, positioning the company in 26th place among all non-life insurers.
The most significant leap in production was recorded in the “Motor Vehicle Liability” category. In particular, the strong growth in Compulsory Traffic Insurance played a key role in overall expansion.
Traffic (Including Green Card): Companies that had no recorded production or negative balances in 2024 due to corrections achieved 4 billion 134 million TL in production during 2025.
Total Liability for Motor Vehicles: Premiums in this main category, which includes traffic insurance, jumped from TL 9.2 million to TL 4 billion 866 million, forming the largest share of the company’s total portfolio.
Other key performance results of Referans Sigorta in 2025 include the following:
Fire and Natural Disasters: This segment experienced a decrease compared to the previous year. Production, standing at 493 million TL in 2024, declined to 389 million TL in 2025, representing a 21% nominal drop and a 39% real-term contraction after inflation adjustments.
Comprehensive (Land Vehicles) Insurance: The comprehensive branch recorded a modest rise, moving from 328 million TL in 2024 to 353 million TL in 2025, a 7.4% increase, though not reflecting real growth against inflation.
Accidents: The accident segment delivered substantial growth, climbing by 497% from 9.2 million TL to 55.4 million TL.
Health (Illness-Health): Health production slightly declined from 63.7 million TL to 58.7 million TL.
