Broker and Agents Capital Amounts Updated

The Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Authority (SEDDK) has revised the capital thresholds applicable to insurance and reinsurance brokers as well as insurance agencies. This adjustment was carried out in line with the Authority’s Board decision dated July 30, 2025 and numbered 1229. The Board resolved that the capital figures and appraisal fee tables, which have been and will continue to be updated under the relevant legal framework, shall be published through SEDDK’s official website.

Capital Obligation Raised for Brokers

In accordance with Article 22 of the Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers Regulation, capital amounts required from brokers were revised by taking into account the annual domestic producer price index (Yİ-ÜFE) growth rate of 27.67% released by TÜİK. The new thresholds, which will take effect on January 1, 2026, are set as follows:

Revised Broker Capital Amounts:

– Minimum paid-in capital: 4,102,037.10 TL
Additional capital for each of the life and non-life segments: 820,407.42 TL
Additional requirement for reinsurance authorization: 1,640,814.84 TL
Additional capital for each subsidiary office other than headquarters: 410,203.71 TL

Updated Capital Limits for Insurance Agents

The capital requirements for agents, regulated by Article 1 of the Insurance Agents Regulation, were also raised by 27.67 percent. As of January 1, 2026, the following amounts will apply:

Minimum paid-in capital: 4,149,275.00 TL
– Minimum capital for agents conducting distance sales without establishing a physical branch: 5,106,800.00 TL
– Minimum capital for the headquarters of agencies operating through branches: 5,106,800.00 TL
Minimum capital per branch: 414,927.50 TL

Revision of Expert Fee Tariffs

Simultaneously, the basic appraisal fee tariffs determined under Article 12 of the Insurance Experts Appointment Regulation were also updated, based on the consumer price index (CPI) change rate for the last half of 2025 published by TÜİK. The renewed appraisal fee schedule will be implemented starting from January 1, 2026.
