Thomas Müller’s Contract Not Renewed at Bayern Munich
In a significant development for both the club and the player, Bayern Munich has decided not to renew the contract of their iconic player, Thomas Müller. The 35-year-old’s agreement with the club is set to expire at the end of this season, and reports from the German press suggest that the club has resolved to part ways with the seasoned athlete.
Max Eberl, Bayern Munich’s Sporting Director, addressed the situation, stating: “We are in discussions with Thomas Müller and other players. We will make an official announcement when there is a definitive outcome.”
According to information from BILD, confidential meetings held during the international break revealed that the club’s management had decided against offering Müller a contract extension. Despite this, Bayern Munich reportedly wishes to retain Müller in a non-playing capacity, potentially integrating him into the management team in future years.
Müller, who has been with Bayern since 2000 and has become a club legend over his illustrious career, may conclude his time at the club by securing his 13th Bundesliga title and a third Champions League victory.
The club has assured Müller of a farewell match upon his retirement from professional football. However, it remains uncertain whether Müller intends to continue his playing career with another team.
