For instance, if a user has previously indicated a dislike for emojis, Grok will adapt and avoid using them in future interactions. xAI assures users that the memory feature is fully transparent. Users can easily view what information Grok retains and have the option to delete any memory they choose. This functionality is accessible through a simple interface, where tapping an icon under each memory allows users to erase the stored data.
Availability and Limitations
Currently, the memory feature is available in beta form on Grok.com as well as the iOS and Android apps. However, due to regulatory constraints, users in the European Union and the United Kingdom are not yet able to access this feature. Meanwhile, competitors like ChatGPT have long offered similar memory capabilities, with OpenAI recently enhancing their system to encompass entire chat histories.
