Gears of War: Reloaded is Officially Announced

After much speculation, it has finally been confirmed that the beloved Gears of War franchise is making its way to the PlayStation 5. Despite the absence of an official announcement until now, recurring rumors hinted at this possibility becoming a reality. Today, fans can rejoice as Gears of War: Reloaded is officially unveiled.

Gears of War: Reloaded is in development by Disbelief and Sumo Interactive, along with The Coalition, for PC (available on Microsoft Store and Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. This remastered version of the original game promises to deliver an enhanced and authentic experience when it launches on August 26, 2025. Available from day one on Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming, the game will also be part of the Play Anywhere initiative, allowing gamers to seamlessly transition between the PC and Xbox Series platforms.

The remaster includes all content from the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, featuring the additional story chapter, all multiplayer maps and modes, and a variety of selectable characters and cosmetic items. Gamers can enjoy a two-player co-op experience, either in split-screen or online. Furthermore, it is rumored that the Versus Multiplayer mode will support up to eight players. While a Microsoft account is not required for these features, cross-platform play will necessitate logging into your Microsoft account.

Players will experience the story mode in stunning 4K resolution at a smooth 60 FPS, with multiplayer modes reaching up to 120 FPS. The game will incorporate HDR, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos 7.1.2/7.1.4 3D spatial audio, along with VRR (variable refresh rate) support. Additionally, it will include 4K assets, refreshed skins, improved visual effects, and enhanced shadows and reflections. The remaster also boasts superior resolution with improved sharpness and smoothing, and eliminates loading screens for a seamless story mode experience.
