The much-anticipated Gears of War: Reloaded is set to launch on August 26, 2025, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Following the release of a new trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase, the game is now up for pre-order. A two-phase multiplayer beta test is scheduled, offering early access to eager players this month.
Beta Phases and Availability
For those who have pre-ordered, are Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscribers, or own the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, the first beta phase will take place between June 13 – 15, 2025. A second phase will follow from June 20 – 22, 2025. During the first phase, players will enjoy Team Deathmatch mode on the classic Gridlock, Raven Down, and Gold Rush maps. The second phase will feature the Courtyard and War Machine maps for Team Deathmatch, while the Canals map will be available for King of the Hill mode.
Game Features and Enhancements
Gears of War: Reloaded promises to match the content richness of the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Players with a digital version of the original game can upgrade to Reloaded at no additional cost. This new edition includes all post-launch content from the original game, such as additional story chapters, all multiplayer maps and modes, selectable characters, and cosmetic enhancements. Reloaded will support two-player co-op in both split-screen and online modes. Versus Multiplayer is speculated to support up to eight players.
Technical Specifications
The game promises an engaging experience with story mode running at a smooth 60 FPS in 4K resolution, while multiplayer boosts this to 120 FPS. Players will appreciate HDR, Dolby Vision, and 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos support, alongside 7.1.4 3D spatial audio and VRR (variable refresh rate). Enhanced visuals include 4K assets, refreshed skins, improved visual effects, and upgraded shadows and reflections. Notably, players will experience seamless transitions with no loading screens in story mode.
