The system mandates adherence to five critical criteria:Durability: Devices must be made resistant to impacts, dust, and water, ensuring longevity in various conditions.Battery Performance: Batteries are required to sustain 80% of their original capacity after a minimum of 800 complete charge-discharge cycles.Repairability: To support sustainability, manufacturers must offer spare parts for 7 years following product discontinuation and ensure availability within 5 to 10 working days.Software Support: Devices should continue receiving updates for at least 5 years post-market withdrawal.Implementation and Broader ImpactThe labels, accessible through the European Product Registry for Energy Labeling (EPREL), will detail seven distinct criteria, such as battery life, device durability, software support, and repairability metrics.
