According to a report by Politico, a renowned American magazine, Elon Musk’s involvement in the government is expected to conclude soon. The report, citing three unnamed senior officials familiar with the situation, suggests that US President Donald Trump has personally expressed satisfaction with Musk’s contributions. However, both parties agree that it is time for Musk to return to his business ventures.
President Trump has reportedly informed his inner circle, which includes select cabinet members, that Elon Musk, who serves as a senior advisor and oversees the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), will step down in the coming weeks. Despite his departure, Musk will still maintain an informal advisory role and make occasional appearances at the White House, according to one official.
Another official indicated that Musk will remain in Trump’s close circle, retaining influence beyond his formal duties. Currently classified as a “special government employee,” Musk operates under a 130-day temporary status. This period is likely to conclude at the beginning of June, at which point Musk is expected to officially leave his governmental responsibilities.
