Join DASK Truck in Turkey as it raises awareness on earthquake preparedness, ensuring communities stay informed and resilient.
The DASK Truck is once again traversing Turkey to enhance public understanding of earthquakes and the importance of Compulsory Earthquake Insurance. The initiative, known as the “DASK Truck on the Road” project, seeks to underscore the ongoing threat of earthquakes while educating communities about necessary insurance measures.
Since December 2023, the mobile office has visited 34 locations across 26 cities, serving as both a disaster support unit and an educational tool. This year, the truck will travel through nine cities, including Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, Uşak, and others, to engage citizens in meaningful dialogue and interactive experiences.
A critical component of the journey includes informative sessions on earthquake preparedness and Compulsory Earthquake Insurance. These meetings will collect citizen feedback and discuss strategies for increasing insurance uptake. Interactive activities, like a virtual earthquake simulation, offer participants a hands-on learning opportunity. Engaging in these events not only educates attendees but also provides chances to win prizes.
Serpil Günal, Secretary General of DASK, emphasized the mission’s importance, noting, “Being present with the DASK Truck and promoting earthquake awareness directly with our communities is invaluable. Our ongoing effort aims to expand insurance coverage across Turkey, moving closer each day to our 100% coverage target. Our project signifies a long-term commitment to bolstering our nation’s financial resilience against disasters.”
The initiative reflects DASK’s dedication to elevating both awareness and insurance rates as the organization progresses toward its ultimate goal of nationwide earthquake preparedness.
