Carlo Ancelotti applauds Arda Güler’s impressive display against Leganes, highlighting his potential and skill on the field.
Real Madrid’s technical director, Carlo Ancelotti, expressed his satisfaction with Arda Güler’s performance in their recent 3-2 victory over Leganes. Güler was included in the starting eleven, showcasing his skills and strategic understanding of the game.
In the post-match press conference, Ancelotti responded to inquiries about Güler, stating: “He played well and demonstrated his quality. He reads the game excellently and although he may not unsettle the opposition like some of our other forwards, his ball control is exceptional. He can distribute the ball effectively and was a valuable asset on the field.“
The decision to substitute Arda in the 62nd minute was strategic. Ancelotti explained, “The change was intended to bolster the team for the latter part of the match by introducing fresh players from the bench, rather than a reflection on Arda’s performance.”
Prior to the Leganes game, Arda Güler last appeared for Real Madrid on February 5th, during the King’s Cup quarter-final against Leganes, where he was also part of the starting lineup. This season, Güler has participated in 19 of the 29 league matches, starting in seven of them under Ancelotti’s management.
Rodrygo replaced Güler after his substitution at the 62nd minute mark. Notably, Güler was the designated penalty taker, contributing to Real Madrid’s opening goal, which was successfully executed by Kylian Mbappe.
