Closing event of the Digitalization of Insurance Supervision Project

The closing briefing of the “Digitalization of Insurance Supervision” Project, implemented jointly by the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), took place on February 4, 2026, hosted by the Turkish Insurance Association (TSB). The EBRD, a key institutional investor in Turkey, has contributed over 23 billion euros to the national economy since 2009.

The event brought together SEDDK Vice Presidents Dilek SAKALLIOĞLU and Emine Feray SEZGİN, Department Heads Serdar KUTLUER and C. Sanem CENGİZ, specialists from relevant departments, EBRD representatives, project consultants, and members of the TSB Digital Transformation and Data Analytics Committee.

Presentation of the digital supervision roadmap

During the meeting, participants reviewed the outcomes and main findings of the technical cooperation project designed to boost Turkey’s digital supervision capacity in the insurance sector. The presentations showcased the project’s three principal stages.

Diagnostic Report: Evaluation of SEDDK’s current digital maturity, systems, and auditing processes.
Use Cases Report: Examination of international SupTech practices and stakeholder input.
Recommendations Report: Actionable guidance for improving digital supervision capabilities.

The project particularly highlighted the importance of integrating digital tools (SupTech) for data collection, processing, storage, analysis, reporting, and visualization, as well as reinforcing data protection and cybersecurity aspects.

The meeting concluded with an interactive Q&A session where participants exchanged insights and raised questions. This final gathering fostered enhanced collaboration and knowledge sharing among public institutions and industry representatives regarding digital auditing practices.
