Samsung has officially unveiled its latest mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy M56, in the Indian market. This model, a streamlined version of the previously launched Galaxy A56, boasts impressive hardware specifications and extended software support at a competitive price point. The Galaxy M56 will be available for purchase starting April 23 on platforms like Amazon India, Samsung’s official website, and the Samsung Shop app.
The Samsung Galaxy M56 features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display with a Full HD+ resolution. The display is enhanced with a 120Hz refresh rate and Vision Booster technology, offering vibrant visuals. Compared to its predecessor, the M56’s bezels are 36% thinner and the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+. The fingerprint sensor is conveniently located beneath the screen. At just 7.2 mm thick and weighing 180 grams, it’s among the lightest and thinnest models in its category.
The smartphone is equipped with a triple camera setup on the rear: a 50MP primary lens with OIS support, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, it has an upgraded 12MP front camera. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording 4K 30fps video with 10-bit HDR support.
Under the hood, the Galaxy M56 runs on the Exynos 1480 processor. It offers 8 GB RAM and options for 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, with the flexibility of microSD card expansion. The device operates on Android 15 with One UI 7.0 out of the box. Notably, Samsung promises six major Android updates and six years of security patches, a rare commitment in the mid-range segment.
The phone supports connectivity options such as 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, dual SIM capabilities, and a USB-C port. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 45W fast charging, ensuring quick power-ups. However, it lacks features like stereo speakers, a metal body, and an official IP rating, which are sometimes found in rivals at this price point.
The Samsung Galaxy M56 is priced at 27,999 Indian Rupees (approximately $327) for the base variant with 128GB of storage. Pricing for the 256GB variant is yet to be disclosed. The phone will be offered in two enticing colors: Black and Light Green. Details regarding its global release have not been announced yet.
