According to reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukraine carried out an extensive overnight drone offensive targeting multiple regions inside Russian territory. Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 164 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across different provinces, as well as over the Black Sea and Sea of Azov.
Rostov Governor Yuriy Slyusar confirmed that two civilians were injured when falling debris struck a residential area following the interception of drones. Emergency services responded quickly to contain the situation and prevent further damage.
Fire Erupts at Black Sea Port
Officials in the Krasnodar region reported that one of the UAVs triggered a fire within Tuapse Port on the Black Sea coast. The blaze reportedly affected two foreign-flagged vessels, which sustained structural damage but no fatalities were recorded. Local authorities managed to extinguish the fire after several hours, preventing escalation.
Energy Facilities Targeted in Ongoing Conflict
While Russia faces increased drone strikes at home, its own military operations continue to focus on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. A wave of new missile and drone assaults last Thursday resulted in widespread blackouts and energy restrictions across Ukraine. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko condemned these actions, labeling them as acts of systematic energy terrorism.
Officials confirmed that at least two individuals lost their lives and seventeen others were wounded, including several children aged between two and sixteen. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky disclosed that during the latest onslaught, Russia employed more than 650 drones and over fifty types of missiles against energy and civilian infrastructures.
The escalating exchange of drone and missile strikes highlights the increasingly complex nature of the conflict, as both nations intensify their defensive and offensive strategies.
