Paul Rudd, widely recognized for his role as Ant-Man, has made a nostalgic return to the world of Nintendo. Some may recall that Rudd’s association with Nintendo dates back to the early 90s.
In 1991, a younger Paul Rudd featured in the American commercial for the launch of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Fast forward over three decades, and he is once again the face of Nintendo’s latest promotion, but this time for the Nintendo Switch 2.

The new commercial cleverly mirrors the charm of the original SNES ad, sparking nostalgia for fans. Here’s a glimpse into the past and the present:
Original Commercial: “Experience the thrill of the 1991 launch with Paul Rudd in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System commercial.”
New Commercial: “Travel back to 1991 with us as we revisit the iconic launch commercial featuring Paul Rudd. Now, three decades later, we proudly unveil the Nintendo Switch 2.”
The anticipation for the Nintendo Switch 2 is palpable, especially with the launch title Mario Kart World ready to race into gamers’ hands. Both the console and the game will be available globally on June 5th.
