Despite the official release date being just around the corner, some lucky individuals have already had a preliminary encounter with the highly anticipated console.
Some users have managed to get their hands on the Switch 2 ahead of the official release. However, Nintendo has implemented a preventive measure that temporarily halts these early users from enjoying the console. This measure requires a necessary update, effectively locking the console until the official launch date.
One such instance involved YouTube user Ali Almarzooqi, who shared an unboxing video of the Switch 2. Although the video was only eight seconds long, it was quickly removed due to a copyright claim by Web Capio. Responding to a viewer’s query, Almarzooqi mentioned that the Switch 2 is currently locked and will remain so until it receives a necessary update on the official release day.
This situation is not entirely unprecedented, as early deliveries by transport companies sometimes lead to stores selling products ahead of schedule, often under the table. Additionally, employees with access to the stock might get a sneak peek. However, Nintendo’s cautious approach seems to have effectively curtailed this early access issue. It will be interesting to see if other companies adopt similar strategies.
In terms of pricing, the Switch 2 is listed at 36,999 TL in our region, according to the Gizala store. Alongside the standard package, a special bundle featuring the Mario Kart World game is also available. Although currently out of stock, this bundle is priced at 39,999 TL. Customers opting for a wire transfer can enjoy a slight discount, bringing the price down to 38,799.03 TL. The console comes with a guarantee from Nintendo’s official distributor, CD Media.
