A new leak suggests FromSoftware is developing a pirate-themed Soulslike project, sparking excitement and speculation among fans.

FromSoftware, known for titles such as Armored Core, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring, is preparing to release The Duskbloods for Switch 2 this year. Recent rumours now suggest that this may not be the studio’s only release in development.

A leak shared on 4chan claimed that FromSoftware is working on a new pirate-themed game and that the project could be released before the end of the year. The source of the leak and the timeline mentioned were met with skepticism. However, additional claims that followed brought the subject into wider discussion across gaming media.
According to the leak, FromSoftware has been developing a new project under the codename Project FMC. The game is reportedly titled Cerulean Assault and is described as a dark RPG and soulslike experience.
The leak states that the game will not feature a large open world similar to Elden Ring. Instead, it is said to take place in a shipwreck environment structured almost like an island. Players are reportedly expected to control a character referred to as the drowned.
It is also claimed that the setting will remain focused on the wreck itself, rather than offering a pirate adventure across open seas in the style of traditional naval exploration games.
No official announcement has been made by FromSoftware regarding Project FMC or Cerulean Assault. The credibility of the leak remains uncertain.
