Anadolu Sigorta, in partnership with the Workup Entrepreneurship Program supported by Türkiye İş Bankası, showcased the first graduating class of the Workup AStart Entrepreneurship Program in a vibrant Demo Day event. The initiative, spearheaded by the Artificial Intelligence Factory, culminated in a gathering on October 6 at İş Kuleleri, welcoming a diverse audience of innovators, investors, and technology aficionados.
The participants, having completed an extensive 4-month journey, shared their groundbreaking solutions and business models, demonstrating significant contributions to the digital landscape. The startups under this program illuminate fresh avenues for established entities, integrating innovative methodologies with cutting-edge technologies.
Anadolu Sigorta CEO Mehmet Tuğtan highlighted the organization’s dedication to innovation and digital growth, emphasizing their status as pioneers with an in-house R&D center. He noted, “Throughout our history, innovation and creativity have been integral to our ethos, now more than ever as we navigate a world of evolving business practices.”
Tuğtan remarked on the transformative nature of the insurance industry, now intricately woven with artificial intelligence, big data, IoT, and automation. He asserted the growing importance of engaging with startups to harness new technologies and business models. A notable announcement during the event was the inception of the AStart Venture Capital Investment Fund, in partnership with Maxis Venture Capital Portfolio Management. This fund aspires to materially support the entrepreneurial ecosystem across a spectrum of fields such as insurance technology, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and sustainability.
The Demo Day also featured panel discussions, including “Inspiring Stories from the Perspective of Investors and Entrepreneurs,” guided by Can Bakır, offering insights from Selami Düz of Maxis Investment and other distinguished panelists.
