PwC Strengthens Corporate Finance Team with New Partner Appointment

PwC, a leader in professional services, has announced the appointment of Hugh Man as a Partner in its renowned Corporate Finance division. Man will be based in the company’s London office, where he will spearhead mergers and acquisitions (M&A) as well as capital raising initiatives, particularly within the insurance sector. This strategic appointment aims to reinforce PwC’s already robust presence in this crucial industry.

Bringing with him two decades of expertise in the insurance and financial services landscapes, Man’s career has been marked by influential roles, most recently at Jefferies. There, he held the position of Managing Director and Head of EMEA Insurance, playing a pivotal role as the lead financial M&A advisor for entities across various branches of insurance, including life and pensions, non-life insurance, reinsurance, and distribution and services.

Before his tenure at Jefferies, Man spent a significant five years at Credit Suisse in a comparable capacity. His illustrious career further includes notable positions at companies such as Fosun, UBS Investment Bank, and Deutsche Bank.

Commenting on the appointment, Lucy Stapleton, Global and UK head of Deals at PwC, remarked, “Insurance is a strategically important sector for us, and Hugh’s arrival marks a significant step in strengthening our leadership in this space. I am thrilled to welcome Hugh to PwC; he brings outstanding experience and a proven track record of advising on complex, high-value transactions across insurance and financial services.”

Stapleton further added, “His appointment enhances our ability to support clients with deep sector insight and reflects our continued focus on growth in this priority area.”

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Man stated, “I am excited by the way PwC can truly differentiate itself in the insurance M&A market because of the breadth and depth of insurance capabilities across the 1000+ people who focus on the sector. Working together with other PwC colleagues, I am confident that I can maximise value for my clients.”
