Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), one of the most eagerly awaited titles in the gaming industry, has officially been delayed until 2026. Rockstar Games recently confirmed that while the game was initially set for a fall 2025 launch, the new release date is now May 26, 2026. The delay is attributed to the company’s commitment to delivering on quality expectations.

Since the release of the first teaser trailer in December 2023, Rockstar has been tight-lipped about specific details regarding GTA 6. What we do know is that the game will return to the iconic Vice City and introduce a groundbreaking female protagonist named Lucia. Her character is poised to captivate players with a crime story inspired by the legendary duo Bonnie and Clyde. This marks a significant milestone, as it’s the first time in the franchise’s history that a female character takes center stage.
