At USFK 2025, Ceyhan Hancıoğlu, CEO of Magdeburger Sigorta, underscored the need for a unified approach in the insurance sector. He advocated for the creation of a ‘Technical Advisory Committee’ and an ‘Insurance Academy’ as pivotal steps forward. While acknowledging the efficiency brought by artificial intelligence, Hancıoğlu stressed the enduring necessity of the human element in claims processes.
Post the event inauguration, several eminent figures including SEDDK President Davut Menteş and TSB Vice President Ahmet Yaşar visited the Magdeburger Sigorta stand, engaging in discussions with General Manager Ceyhan Hancıoğlu.
Significance of Claims Process Management
In a panel discussion about stakeholder roles and expectations in the claims ecosystem, Hancıoğlu highlighted the centrality of claims management in the financial health of insurance companies. He proudly mentioned that Turkey stands out in Europe regarding service quality and customer satisfaction.
Proposed Initiatives for Sector Advancement
Sector Technical Advisory Committee: Hancıoğlu proposed forming a body to harmonize sector-wide goals and solutions. He advocated for a collaborative forum under SEDDK, TSB, or TOBB to address varied sector issues from expert fees to supply chain challenges.
Establishing an Insurance Academy: Emphasizing the fragmented educational efforts in the industry, Hancıoğlu called for a collaborative educational platform, suggesting a ‘laboratory-based’ academy supported by the Turkish Insurance Institute Foundation.
Balancing Technology with Human Touch
Asserting the benefits of AI in speeding up processes, Hancıoğlu remained firm on the irreplaceability of human judgement and interaction, essential in maintaining effective claim processes.
