Allianz Commercial has officially appointed Lara Martiner as the new global head of Alternative Risk Transfer at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), effective from April 1st. Martiner will be taking over from Grant Maxwell, who is set to leave Allianz by the end of June.
Continuing her current role as CEO of the subsidiary Allianz Risk Transfer, Martiner’s journey with Allianz Group spans over 14 years. She first joined the company in 2011, serving as legal counsel, head of compliance, and location head in Zurich.
Throughout her tenure with AGCS and the Alternative Risk Transfer unit, Martiner has held several senior positions. She joined the executive board of Allianz Risk Transfer in October 2021 and took on the responsibilities of chief executive and general counsel in 2024.
Vanessa Maxwell, the chief underwriting officer at Allianz Commercial, expressed her support by stating, “Congratulations to Lara on her new appointment. I am eager to collaborate with her.”
Maxwell further emphasized, “Alternative risk transfer represents a growth area for us, and I am confident that Lara will enhance our capabilities and expertise, benefiting our business in the coming years.”
