In an exciting announcement, Xiaomi has unveiled its much-anticipated processor, the XRING 01. This announcement was made by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, who confirmed the processor’s name as “Xiaomi XRING 01”. The project, spearheaded by former Qualcomm executive Qin Muyun, is set to officially debut by the end of May.

While Xiaomi has yet to release detailed specifications, earlier leaks provide a glimpse of what to expect. The XRING 01 is rumored to feature an octa-core architecture based on ARM’s latest designs. This includes a Cortex-X925 running at 3.2GHz, three 2.6GHz Cortex-A725 cores, and four 2.0GHz Cortex-A520 cores.
On the graphics front, the processor will likely incorporate an Imagination IMG DXT72 GPU, clocked at 1.3GHz. Manufacturing will reportedly utilize TSMC’s 4nm N4P process technology. Notably, Xiaomi successfully completed a tape-out process for 3nm production last year. This strategic manufacturing decision aims to balance production costs and avoid potential US sanctions.
Currently, over 1,000 engineers are involved in the XRING 01’s development. This dedicated team is led by a former Qualcomm executive, who directly reports to CEO Lei Jun. The official launch of the XRING 01 is anticipated before month’s end, promising a short wait for eager tech enthusiasts.
