Apart from the 184 million dataset previously reported by Wired, all other 15.8 billion records are surfacing for the first time, highlighting the breach’s severity. These datasets, identified since January 2025, consist of independent clusters, with the largest being 3.5 billion account details of Portuguese-speaking users. Other significant clusters include Russian logins, Telegram accounts, and various unidentified datasets.

The data is formatted in a direct URL, username, and password structure, raising alarms about its potential use. However, the origins of these datasets remain ambiguous, complicating user safeguarding measures. The intent behind this massive data collection remains unknown, though the breach is yet to be dubbed as RockYou2024 or MOAB (Mother of All Breaches).
Current alert systems in browsers like Firefox and Chrome, along with Cybernews’ leak-checking tools, have not integrated this new data, leaving countless users unaware of their compromised information. Reacting swiftly, Google has advised 2 billion Gmail users to update their passwords, while the FBI has cautioned against clicking on suspicious SMS links.
