Arch Insurance International (Arch) has appointed Alex Clark as the new Healthcare Underwriting Manager. The promotion, effective immediately, places Clark in charge of overseeing underwriting operations across the healthcare portfolio, which includes hospital professional liability, long-term care, and physician professional liability. These cover a variety of US and international exposures. Based in London, he will report to James Barrett, the Head of Cyber & Healthcare. Previously a senior healthcare underwriter, Clark brings nearly 15 years of experience in underwriting and broking, having joined Arch in 2021 from Tysers, where he served as an associate director in the healthcare team.
Howden, the global insurance intermediary, has welcomed Brigitte Trafford as the Group Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, a newly established role. Trafford will lead the company’s brand and marketing, communications, PR, public affairs, events, research, and social impact teams. Her mission is to devise a global strategy aimed at engaging talent, clients, prospects, partners, policymakers, and investors. Reporting directly to CEO David Howden, she will join the global leadership team. Before joining Howden, Trafford was a senior adviser at Lansons, a corporate reputation consultancy. She has held prominent roles in corporate affairs and marketing at organizations including LSEG, Virgin Media, ICAP, ITV, and Dow Jones & Company.
Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has appointed Nicola Holmes as Director of Niches and Schemes for its UK Retail pillar. Holmes, who brings extensive experience in the insurance sector, previously served as head of broker in Hiscox’s Art and Private Clients Division. She has held several significant roles at Hiscox, including schemes manager and regional manager. In her new position at SRG, Holmes will oversee the private clients division and other specialist teams.
Brit Group Holdings Limited has announced the appointment of Jean-Jacques Henchoz as a Non-Executive Director, set to take effect on May 1, 2025, subject to regulatory approvals. Henchoz was formerly the chairman of the executive board at Hannover Re and possesses over 27 years of experience in the global reinsurance industry. He spent more than two decades at Swiss Re, occupying various leadership roles, including CEO of reinsurance and regional president for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
McLarens, a worldwide claims services provider, has formed an EMEA Senior Management Board (SMB) to steer its growth across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The newly created board comprises senior leaders from the region, such as Steven Wallace, Managing Director of EMEA, and Klaas Brand, Managing Director of McLarens Netherlands. Following a 25% revenue growth in the fiscal year, McLarens is aiming to broaden its regional presence. The company has also launched an EMEA Development Committee to explore opportunities like mergers and acquisitions, new markets, and product development.
