Samsung‘s pioneering tri-fold Galaxy phone has finally been glimpsed, making an appearance in a certification database in China. This marks a significant step towards Samsung’s ambition to transform the foldable phone market. Despite its groundbreaking design, the device’s minimal charging capability might leave some users wanting more.
Innovative Design with Limited Charging Speed
In recent years, Samsung has carved out a notable space within the foldable phone arena. With its Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series, the company has pushed the envelope in terms of design. Now, they aim to elevate the game further with a tri-fold model. The device, identified in China’s 3C certification database under the model number SM-F9680, promises a strong market impact despite not being officially launched yet.
The certification details classify the tri-fold Galaxy phone as a digital mobile device supporting 5G capabilities. Notably, the phone is paired with a 25W charging adapter, model EP-TA800, indicating that its maximum wired fast charging capacity will be 25W. Such specifications might fall short of user expectations for rapid charging.
This information suggests Samsung is continuing its trend of providing modest charging speeds, reminiscent of the Galaxy S25 Edge model. Additionally, the 3C certification hints at an initial launch targeted at the Chinese market. This implies Samsung may unveil its revolutionary tri-fold phone regionally before considering a global release.
