According to a leaker known as PandaFlashPro on social media platform X, this new Samsung device will incorporate this advanced battery technology. Silicon carbon batteries are renowned for their use of silicon in the anode rather than traditional graphite, resulting in a battery that holds significantly more energy. This leads to a higher energy density, thereby allowing for greater capacity within the same volume.
Such batteries are increasingly being adopted by numerous Chinese smartphone manufacturers, resulting in devices boasting 6,500-7,000 mAh or even larger battery capacities. Samsung’s approach with their tri-fold phone is to leverage silicon carbon batteries for a sleeker design, potentially compromising on battery capacity but ensuring a slimmer profile.
