The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event
Scheduled for July 9 at 17:00 PT, the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event is set to be a major highlight in the tech calendar, featuring the launch of new foldable phones, redesigned smartwatches, an updated One UI software, and much more.

New Foldable Phones: Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE
As tradition holds, Samsung’s latest foldable phones will take center stage. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are anticipated to be the stars of the event. While no groundbreaking innovations are expected, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will stand out as Samsung’s thinnest device yet, featuring a book-style foldable design measuring 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when opened. It will boast a larger flip display and a 200MP main camera.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will introduce two significant enhancements: a larger cover screen extending to the top half of the phone and wrapping around the camera lenses, measuring approximately 4 inches, and a larger 4300 mAh battery. Although it will be slightly thinner, the difference won’t be as pronounced as between the Fold 6 and Fold 7. The Flip 7 will be powered by an Exynos processor, specifically the newly announced Exynos 2500.
Samsung is also poised to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, a more affordable version of the Flip model. This Fan Edition will retain the design and hardware of last year’s Flip 6 and will be equipped with the Exynos 2400 chip from the previous Galaxy S24 series.
Galaxy Watch 8 Series and New Color for Galaxy Watch Ultra
Alongside the new foldable phones, Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Watch 8 series. The classic model, featuring a physical rotating bezel, makes a comeback. Last year, Samsung skipped the Galaxy Watch 7 Classic, opting instead for the debut of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. This year, the Galaxy Watch 8 will launch alongside the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, which will feature the beloved rotating bezel cherished by many Galaxy Watch enthusiasts.

The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will adopt the sleek rounded-corner design introduced last year with the Galaxy Watch Ultra. It will also incorporate the action button seen on the Ultra, complemented by the familiar home/power and back buttons.
Specifications-wise, not many upgrades are anticipated. The Exynos W1000 chip from the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra will power the Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic. Battery capacities are expected to remain similar, with new health and tracking features and software enhancements taking the spotlight.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is not expected to make an appearance. Instead, Samsung, akin to Apple, will offer a new color option for the existing model without altering the price. However, the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic will retail for about $50 more than their predecessors, the Watch 7 and Watch 6 Classic.
Final Version of One UI 8
Google has announced that the Android 16-based One UI 8 update will arrive on Samsung devices this summer. Samsung initiated the One UI 8 beta program in May, releasing a second beta last month. Thus far, the One UI 8 beta updates have been exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series. The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE models will ship with One UI 8. Samsung is expected to commence the rollout of One UI 8 at the Unpacked event.
