In response to the prohibition of the GeForce RTX 5090D in China, Nvidia is preparing to launch a new, embargo-compliant version. A leak from the Asian market reveals this upcoming model, designated as the GeForce RTX 5090DD, nicknamed “Double-D”. This variant will offer a scaled-back performance compared to its predecessor, the RTX 5090D.
Reliable sources indicate that the RTX 5090DD will be powered by a GB202-240 GPU and feature 24GB of GDDR7 384-bit memory. The card will employ the PG145 card design and will be distributed under SKU 40. Notably, this design has been utilized in prior RTX 5090D and RTX 4090D models.
It’s important to note that the PG145 designation usually suggests exclusive designs for manufacturer partners. As a result, the RTX 5090DD will be marketed exclusively through Chinese manufacturers such as Colorful and Palit.
