Explore the Nvidia driver update addressing the temperature sensor bug causing game crashes, ensuring smoother gaming experiences.

ToggleNvidia recently unveiled its 576.02 driver package, which initially garnered positive feedback due to notable performance enhancements in certain scenarios. However, users have reported ongoing crash issues, and a new problem has emerged: the temperature sensor malfunction in video cards.

The issue in Nvidia’s latest 576.02 driver causes GPU temperature sensor readings to remain constant. This anomaly occurs specifically when the system exits sleep mode or power-saving mode. Consequently, the graphics card struggles to adjust clock speeds and voltages accurately, lacking precise temperature data. Although the hardware itself remains undamaged, users might experience performance inconsistencies.
Preliminary speculation suggests that the bug resides in Nvidia’s “NvAPI_GPU_GetThermalSettings” API, although Nvidia has yet to release an official statement on the matter. Alongside the temperature sensor issue, unresolved crash problems persist in AAA titles such as Black Myth Wukong, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Monster Hunter Wilds. Developers advise users to revert to the more stable driver version 566.36 until these bugs are thoroughly addressed.
