Robots Revolutionizing Turkish Industry by 2030

In a recent interview broadcasted on CNN Turk, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır discussed the transformative role of robotics in Turkey’s industrial landscape. Minister Kacır projected that by 2030, 200,000 robots will be actively working in the nation’s factories. He confidently stated, “Our aim is to amplify the number of robots operating within Turkish factories by fivefold by 2030. Understanding the critical importance of production, we are setting this goal to harness the full potential of digital transformation, automation, and artificial intelligence, ultimately boosting our competitive edge in the global market.”

Nationwide Industrial Expansion with New Incentive Package

Minister Kacır revealed plans to fast-track industrial development across all 81 provinces of Turkey through a newly introduced incentive package. This initiative is part of the comprehensive ‘National Industrial Areas Master Plan’, designed to foster rapid industrialization. The plan’s initial phase includes the creation of 32 mega industrial cities, strategically planned as expansive industrial zones that are tenfold larger than current organized industrial zones. These zones will encompass not only industrial facilities but also housing, educational institutions, and social amenities, significantly enhancing regional development.

Furthermore, investments in socioeconomically underdeveloped areas will receive substantial support, including up to 14 years of insurance employer share assistance and 10 years of insurance premium employee share support. Minister Kacır emphasized, “Our aspiration is to catalyze reverse migration, fostering holistic development throughout the nation.”
