Significant Price Increase for Xbox Consoles

Following the slew of tariff decisions by Donald Trump, Microsoft has announced a considerable increase in the prices of Xbox consoles. Both Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X models will experience a substantial price revision. Although this update has been initially stated in U.S. dollars, it is anticipated to have global repercussions. However, the exact impact on Xbox prices in Turkey remains uncertain.

Post-update, the prices in the international market will be:

• Xbox Series X (Digital): From $450 to $550,
• Xbox Series X (Disk): From $500 to $600,
• Xbox Series S (500 GB): From $300 to $380,
• Xbox Series S (1 TB): From $350 to $430.

We will have to keep an eye on how this nearly $100 increment will translate into the Turkish market, but a notable increase appears unavoidable.

Upcoming Xbox Games to See Price Hike

In addition to the console price adjustments, Microsoft is also raising the prices of some Xbox games. This change will specifically affect upcoming first-party Xbox titles, which are games developed by Microsoft’s own studios, such as Halo, Gears of War, and Forza Motorsport. These titles will now be priced at $80.

The silver lining for gamers is that many of these games are typically available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. It appears that $80 is becoming the new benchmark for AAA games across the industry. As a point of reference, Nintendo has also declared that game prices would be set between $80 and $90 with the release of Switch 2. Similarly, other games, including GTA VI, are expected to follow suit and exceed the $80 mark.
