Unnamed sources have criticized Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir for his comments suggesting that expanding military operations in Gaza does not jeopardize the safety of Israeli prisoners held there. They argue that his statements downplay the risks involved and question the feasibility of achieving the army’s goal of releasing all hostages.
Criticism of Political Leadership
The report also critiques the army’s leadership, quoting officials who describe Defense Minister Yisrael Katz as merely echoing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with no independent stance expected from him.
