The White House turned into a glowing spectacle for Halloween as the residence shimmered with orange lights and carefully carved pumpkins, a creative vision led by Melania Trump. Returning from his Asian tour, President Donald Trump joined the festivities, handing out sweets and small gifts to children dressed in imaginative costumes. Laughter filled the air as he exchanged friendly jokes with youngsters and their families.

Adding to the festive mood, Michael Jackson’s famous track echoed through the grounds, energizing the crowd. Attendees included White House staff members and military families who enjoyed about an hour of celebration, marking a brief but lively pause from everyday political duties.

Political Shadows Behind the Celebration

While pumpkins glowed in Washington, protests erupted overseas. In Venezuela, thousands of demonstrators marched through the streets to denounce President Trump’s foreign policies. The tension stemmed from U.S. accusations against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, whom Washington has charged with involvement in narcotics trafficking. Further escalating matters, Trump reportedly granted the CIA expanded operational authority concerning Venezuela.

President Maduro publicly claimed that he was a direct target of these actions, accusing the U.S. of seeking intervention in his country’s affairs. Meanwhile, South American leaders, notably Colombian President Gustavo Petro, urged regional unity to resist any outside interference. Trump, however, amplified the controversy by branding Petro a “drug lord,” intensifying diplomatic strain across Latin America.

Political Shadows Behind the Celebration

Amid the tension, streets in Caracas filled with chants backing Maduro, with protesters defiantly wearing shirts showing solidarity against perceived U.S. aggression. As Halloween offered joy at the White House, it also mirrored the contrast between domestic celebration and growing unrest beyond American borders.
