Escaped Zebra ‘Ed’ Captured After Week-long Adventure

Authorities in the United States have successfully captured a zebra named Ed, who had escaped from his home in Tennessee and evaded capture for over a week. The incident quickly gained attention online, turning Ed into a social media sensation.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Ed was found in a local pasture and safely captured. Utilizing their aviation team, officials managed to secure the zebra, much to the relief of his owners and the community.

In a statement released by the sheriff’s office, it was announced that Ed was airlifted by helicopter and transported to a waiting animal trailer. Video footage revealed Ed calmly encased in a net, being gently carried by helicopter to ensure his safe relocation.

Ed’s escapade began on May 30 when he arrived in Christiana and went missing the following day. His unexpected adventure led to several sightings, including one instance where he was seen trotting along a roadway, prompting authorities to temporarily close the highway for safety reasons. Despite attempts to catch him, Ed skillfully navigated into a wooded area, eluding capture.
