Audi is actively evaluating the establishment of a manufacturing facility in the southern United States as part of strategic plans to mitigate trade tensions with the current US administration led by President Donald Trump. This initiative was highlighted in a recent report by the news magazine, Spiegel.
The premium automaker, a division of the Volkswagen Group, is exploring several strategic options. Among these, the construction of a US-based plant stands out as the most costly alternative under consideration. Company insiders suggest that this investment could reach up to 4 billion euros ($4.61 billion).
Should Audi proceed with this plan, the facility would be constructed at a new location within the United States, signifying a major expansion of Audi’s manufacturing operations in North America.
