Tim Cook Acknowledges Delays in Siri’s Evolution

The initial release was slated for an iOS 18 update, but earlier this year, Apple officially announced a delay, citing the need for extended development time.

Organizational Shifts to Accelerate Progress
Apple has made strategic changes within its teams to expedite Siri’s development. Notably, John Giannandrea, a long-time artificial intelligence expert, was replaced by Mike Rockwell, previously the head of the Vision Pro project. This shift is intended to enhance the hardware and software integration for Siri.
Future Outlook and Release Speculations
The revamped Siri is anticipated to debut with iOS 19. However, whether it will be available in the initial release or in later updates remains uncertain. Some industry insiders speculate that the launch could be postponed until 2026.
