Anthropic has announced the introduction of two innovative features designed to optimize Claude AI’s performance for enterprise clients utilizing Google Workspace as their primary productivity environment. These enhancements aim to empower users to efficiently locate information within internal business data and across the web, facilitating improved and expedited decision-making.
Introducing Claude’s Research Capability
Claude is now equipped with the Research feature, akin to ChatGPT’s advanced research capability. This feature autonomously conducts multiple searches to examine various aspects of a user’s query, delivering answers accompanied by precise citations. Anthropic asserts that this feature boasts a faster performance compared to ChatGPT’s deep research, focusing on furnishing high-quality, comprehensive responses rather than extended textual reports.
Seamless Integration with Google Workspace
Claude now offers seamless integration with Gmail and Calendar within Google Workspace, providing deeper insights into a user’s work context and schedule. With this integration, users can instruct Claude to review meeting notes from the prior week and locate pertinent documents for further information. Additionally, Claude will deliver inline citations referring to relevant content, enabling users to verify the source material.
Enhanced Retrieval with Cataloging for Administrators
Administrators of Claude Enterprise will have the option to activate cataloging, thereby enhancing Claude’s retrieval quality and accuracy. When cataloging is enabled, Claude leverages retrieval incremental generation (RAG) techniques to navigate an organization’s document and information repositories effectively.
Availability and Expansion
The Claude Research feature is currently accessible in early beta for Max, Team, and Enterprise plans in the United States, Japan, and Brazil. The Google Workspace integration beta is available to all paid Claude users. For Claude Team and Enterprise plan administrators, enabling Google Workspace integration for their domain is a prerequisite before individual users can connect their accounts. Furthermore, Claude Web search, initially launched in the US, has now been expanded to include Brazil and Japan.
