Plan Your Route with Yandex Maps’ Latest Feature
During the recent Road Traffic Week, Yandex Maps unveiled a new feature designed to enhance the journey planning experience for drivers. This update allows users to preview the toll costs they will incur on toll roads along their selected routes, making travel more predictable and cost-efficient.
With this innovation, drivers can now anticipate their travel expenses ahead of time, providing the option to choose toll-free routes if they wish to minimize costs. Upon setting a route, the app highlights toll roads and details the charges applicable to Class 1 vehicles, which typically include passenger cars.
For example, when planning a journey from Istanbul’s European side to Sabiha Gökçen Airport, users can see the toll costs for roadways like the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Northern Marmara Motorway (O-7). This transparency allows users to make informed decisions based on their budgetary preferences.
This feature is available in the latest versions of both Yandex Maps and Yandex Navigation, accessible on iOS and Android devices. Besides the toll cost display, these apps offer additional functionalities such as speed limit alerts, options to avoid rough or unpaved roads, offline mapping capabilities, and information on road closure start and end times.
