Warner Pacific, a leading national general agency that supports brokers throughout the United States, has announced its strategic acquisition of Black, Gould & Associates (BGA). BGA is a renowned full-service general agency known for providing comprehensive back-office services to agents and brokers.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Founded in 1980 and headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, BGA has established a significant market presence, serving over 2,500 agents and agencies. It boasts an impressive portfolio, representing more than 8,000 group insurance clients and 60,000 individual policyholders.
This acquisition marks Warner Pacific’s seventh in the past year, aligning with its strategic ambition to expand its reach across the United States, particularly in the Southwest region. The acquisition of BGA is a testament to Warner Pacific’s commitment to enhancing its service offerings and broadening its geographic footprint.
John Nelson, co-CEO of Warner Pacific, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating that BGA is a “perfect fit” due to its robust focus on individual, group, and Medicare products. “As we strive to become the leading wholesale benefits distributor in the U.S., we eagerly anticipate welcoming the BGA team and further expanding our geographic and product offerings,” Nelson remarked.
Warner Pacific has been actively pursuing strategic acquisitions over the past few years. In December 2024, the company notably acquired five general agencies from Acrisure, thereby reinforcing its national stature. This move also fortified its presence in the Southwest following the acquisition of Ashmore Agency in Texas. Additionally, in November 2023, Warner Pacific made strides into Minnesota by acquiring BeneUSA, an agency specializing in ancillary group insurance products.
These acquisitions underscore the company’s focus on growth through strategic expansion, enabling Warner Pacific to better serve its broker network and address the growing demand for a diverse array of insurance products.
