Transition to Unreal Engine 5
Launched in 2020, Valorant was initially crafted using the Unreal Engine 4. This engine, a staple for Riot Games for nearly a decade, is now set to be replaced. The studio has officially confirmed the transition to Unreal Engine 5 with the rollout of update 11.02 at the end of July. While the game’s core aesthetics and feel are expected to remain largely intact, players can look forward to enhanced performance and more streamlined patch updates post-transition.
Introducing the Replay System
Furthermore, Riot has revealed plans to incorporate a “Replay” system with the 11.06 update, which is projected to be available by the end of the year.
