Reasons Behind the Production Delay

The global production of the cost-effective Model Y, known internally as E41, was originally planned to commence in the U.S. However, three different insiders have informed Reuters that this has been postponed by a couple of months from the publicly announced schedule. Although the precise reasons for the delay remain undisclosed, it is suggested that there have been revisions in production targets and alternative timeframes are under consideration, ranging from the third quarter of this year to early next year.

Tesla’s Ambitious Production Goals in the U.S.

According to sources, Tesla aims to manufacture 250,000 units of the more affordable Model Y in the U.S. by 2026. Previously, Reuters had reported on the new vehicle’s production plans in China and Europe. However, the delay in U.S. production and the ambitious production target had not been previously disclosed to the public.
