Hamas Warns of Dire Consequences for Israel’s Actions

Abu Ubaidah, the spokesperson for the Hamas military wing Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, has issued a stern warning, asserting that the Israeli military’s actions are jeopardizing the life of an Israeli captive held in Gaza. He emphasized that the Israeli forces would bear full responsibility if the prisoner were to die.

The statement was made public through Hamas’ Telegram account, where Abu Ubaidah highlighted the precarious situation surrounding the Israeli captive, Matan Zangauker. He revealed that the Israeli army had encircled the location where Zangauker is being detained.

Abu Ubaidah accused Israel of risking the lives of its citizens held in Gaza. He firmly stated, “We assert that Israel will not succeed in rescuing the prisoner alive.”

In a pointed reference to Zangauker, who has been in captivity for 1 year and 8 months, Abu Ubaidah added, “If this prisoner, whose life we have safeguarded, is killed during a rescue attempt, the responsibility for his death will lie squarely with the occupying Israeli forces.”
