Following a pivotal meeting between Inter President Giuseppe Marotta and the esteemed coach Simone Inzaghi, an official announcement has been made by the club.
In the statement, they acknowledged Inzaghi as one of the most enduring figures in the club’s history as a coach. It was stated: “The club and Simone Inzaghi are mutually parting ways after a decision reached in a recent meeting. Inzaghi’s tenure will be fondly remembered by fans, players, management, and staff as a period marked by immense passion, professionalism, and dedication. His contributions have significantly enriched Inter’s legacy, and he will be eternally recognized as the coach who guided us to our second star—our 20th championship.”
The club’s website also featured a farewell letter from Coach Inzaghi.
In his letter, Inzaghi expressed gratitude for the trust shown in him and stated:
“After an incredible four-year journey, it is time for me to bid farewell to this club. On such a challenging day, I feel it’s important to express my gratitude for the concluding meeting held moments ago. We spoke candidly and collectively decided to conclude this wonderful journey. My final words are dedicated to the countless blue and black fans who stood by me, shared tears and endured hardships during tough times, and celebrated with joy in our six victories together: I will never forget you.”
During his time at Inter, which began in July 2021, Inzaghi achieved notable success, securing 1 Serie A championship, 2 Italian Cups, and 3 Italian Super Cups. He also led the team to the UEFA Champions League finals in 2023 and 2025.
However, the current season’s performance under Inzaghi’s management, which saw Inter fail to capture any trophies in the league, domestic cup, or European competition, culminated in a decisive 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. This outcome sparked discussions regarding the future of the seasoned coach with the blue-black club.
Meanwhile, reports from the Italian sports media suggest that Inzaghi is poised to take charge of the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.
