Seismic Activity in the Marmara Sea
According to the latest reports from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a seismic event registering a magnitude of 3.9 was recorded with its epicenter located in the Marmara Sea, off the coast of Istanbul’s Silivri district. The tremor, which struck at a depth of 6.99 kilometers, was felt across the region.

6.2 Magnitude Earthquake
The initial quake was soon followed by a more powerful 6.2 magnitude earthquake, also originating off the coast of Silivri. This significant tremor was detected at a depth of 6.92 kilometers. The impact was substantial enough to be felt in neighboring provinces, and aftershocks are expected to continue.
